It's finals time, and I took my first final an hour ago (7 am on a Saturday. Yuck). Yesterday, I got really stressed out about finals and studying and getting everything done. I've learned a few important things.
1. You're never too old for Taylor Swift. Taylor was my go to in middle school and high school, and yesterday I realized that it's the exact same. She just kind of soothes the soul, you know?
2. Food makes all the difference. I went from being irritated and upset (sorry, high school athletes) to happy and stress-less once I got food in me (especially Magleby's chocolate cake), and I'm sure I was much more pleasant to be around. Also, if you're stressed, go get yourself a piece of chocolate cake from Magleby's Fresh.
3. Prayer and rain make you feel better. They at least make me feel better. Just like Taylor Swift, they soothe my soul, and I have a much better outlook on life this morning than I did yesterday.
4. I saw this quote on Pinterest last night: "Be gentle with yourself, you're doing the best you can." Isn't that the truth though? You, me, everyone else, we're doing the best that we can. Fortunately, with God, that is enough.
(If you are feeling stressed too and need some extra motivation, go read this post by the Painted Teacup.
5. Live in the moment. I was at a get together last night for the graduating seniors in our athletic training program. BYU's Director of Sports Medicine spoke for a few minutes, and she talked about enjoying life right now. "You can retake a class, but you can't retake a party." Today, I'm going to work harder at living in the moment.
Happy Saturday!
