It's so strange to me that all of my friends (younger than me friends!) are starting to leave on missions. Ari - gone. Spencer - gone. And this week, Nik goes too. Nik was my first prom date, one of my medley partners in both Dancin' and Tron, and my scrapbooking buddy ;). I missed him more than I thought I would when I graduated. Nik is one of those people that you can definitely see his personality on stage - like the one time he paraded around as a fairy in the middle of girls routine in concert.
Nik is a fantastic friend, and I'll miss him during the two years that he serves in Ecuador. He will be an absolutely incredible missionary though, as evidenced by the farewell talk he gave today. One thing he said that especially stuck out to me is "When we partake of the sacrament, we partake of Christ." Those words will stick with me for a long time, and have already started to change me.
